About
As time moved on, I made many discoveries, and learned all of my passions can co-exist, and the only boundaries, are the ones we put on ourselves.
Yesterday was such a wonderful day Again all of my clouds floated away. Clear sky with a distant curtain of haze Dripping, we climbed though a vertical maze. Stopping briefly to admire the view Saying hello to a hiker or two. Onward we pushed, finally reaching the ridge Exposed on this spectacular bridge. The earth reaches out, an attempt to touch Pushed upward from below, seeking so much. The rocks like the bones of some long dead beast Exposed by fire, in a wild frenzied feast. Refreshed by the wind, walking alone Following the silent sentries of stone. She reaches the top, having lead the way Fulfilled the wish of a small child that day. We find a soft spot, sheltered from the wind Like the grass already there, we move in. Gazing out, slowly the land disappears We talk, eat our snack, everything so clear. Hawks riding thermals, effortless, they soar As do our thoughts, wishing to explore more. They make it seem easy, masters of sky Grounded on the rocks, side by side, we lie. She’s holding me, I feel her gentle touch I am enjoying the moment so much. If I had the power, using my will To stop the earth, for the time to stand still. Happy for this day, and trying my best But slowly the sun moves on to the west. It was getting late and time to descend Maybe, hoping, that the day will not end. Heading down, we try stopping now and then Discussing when we can do this again. Reaching the bottom, all that I can say Is, that this day was a wonderful day. David Gray
